Autumn Yoga

In TCM, Autumn belongs to the Metal Element. This is a time for slowing down and doing less as we prepare for the slumber of Winter.

The Metal Element manifests in the Lungs (Yin) and Large Intestine (Yang).

Metal governs our Qi and the strength of our immune system. It's taking in and letting go, creating healthy boundaries and routine. Metal is discernment and self worth.

Emotionally it’s related to grief and sadness.

Metal is the Father energy- authority, leadership, strength.

Letting Go: a Yin practice

As the leaves fall from the trees, we are invited to shed and release what no longer serves us.

Join me for a 70-minute Yin practice* focusing on the Lung & Large Intestine meridians (thumb line of the arm, top of the shoulder, chest), to increase our Yin energy as we move towards the Winter season.

This practice offers variations for each yin shape, encouraging you to truly honor and support your body.

Yin Yoga is an introspective practice, working with the fascia (connective tissue) to help release tension in the body. You will be invited to find softness throughout this session, slowly quieting the mind as you focus on the breath.

*also available as a 35-minute practice

Resolve: a Yang practice

Resolve is the recognition of what we still have and the decision to move forward with it.

Join me for a 75- minute active practice*, focusing on the Lungs and Large Intestine meridians. Moving slowly with our breath, we will luxuriate in the Yang shapes, as we create space and warmth through the body. This practice is designed to circulate our energy, focusing on the chest & arms, to release stagnation.

Variations are offered to support your practice.

This practice offers the chance for you to slow down and go inward, as we move towards the Winter season.
